Frinton-on-Sea

Background:

A parade of poor quality buildings in the “High Street” of this affluent seaside town in north east Essex. The owners wanted to finance redevelopment rather than selling the site. We were able to secure Sainsbury’s as the anchor tenant to kick start the development.

Development role:

We performed a development management role. We acquired a neighbouring property to enlarge the development site and achieved planning for four retail units and eight flats at first floor.

Outcome:

We secured a negotiated planning consent in a town which had previously strongly resisted major food operators and managed the building contract to deliver the phase one opening of Sainsbury’s on time, on budget and with a substantially enhanced financial outcome for the landowner.
